DOT Breath Alcohol Technician Train-the-Trainer course provides learners with the necessary skills and information to train others to comply with the training requirements regulated by the DOT and their sub-agencies. Training will take about8-hours and was developed by Andrew Easler, Esq., a leading attorney and expert in drug and alcohol testing, and was created to comply with the United States Code of Federal Regulations DOT regulation 49 CFR Part 40.213(b)(4).
Training also provides learners with knowledge of the latest DOT regulations and includes hands-on experience with evidential breath testing devices, and teaches crucial skills such as interpreting test results, providing constructive feedback, and managing both error correction and five-year refresher training sessions - all integral components of the DOT Breath Alcohol Technician training process.
The training goes above and beyond by covering non-DOT protocols at no additional charge, creating an overview of all aspects of breath alcohol testing. Initial training supplies for mock collection and scenario training are provided as part of the course, helping instructors demonstrate breath alcohol testing procedures.
The course requires participants to have an Evidential Breath Testing Device (EBT) and enough mouthpieces to complete the mock demonstrations. We recommend having at least 10 Alcohol Testing Forms (ATFs), ten spare mouthpieces, and tamper-evident tape if your EBT Device does not print tamper-evident self-adhesive labels. Our recommended devices, which the course provides training, include Lifeloc, Intoximeters, Draeger, and Alcovisor.
Upon completing the course, participants are awarded a certificate, qualifying them to administer both DOT and non-DOT-compliant breath alcohol testing programs. This course is ideally suited for in-house corporate trainers, individuals intending to start their own training business and professionals who need a thorough understanding of DOT protocols for maintaining workplace safety and compliance.
Corporate trainers will be provided an instructor account to register new learners and their initital proficiency for $30 per person per course. Volume trainers can subscribe to our eLearning platform, which also includes pre-made courseware or license SCORM files for third-party systems.
