Mock Collections for DOT Urine Specimen Collectors & Trainers

Learners MUST have at least 10 Federal CCFs and six split specimen collection cups for demonstration. If need be, these materials can be sent to the learner for an additional fee. Mock collections are valid in the United States, Canada, and any country that uses US DOT rules.

Virtual mock collection training, led by experienced instructors, exceeds DOT requirements for urine drug testing. The training utilizes scenario-based learning and mock collections, simulations of actual procedures, and provides DOT urine specimen collectors with the confidence, skills, and required mock demonstrates, which will help the collector adhere to the chain of custody and qualification requirements as per 49 CFR Part 40.

Our approach to mock collections reduces fatal flaws in test results. When the learners complete five mock collections in group sessions, learners gain the confidence to handle diverse scenarios. A certificate, downloadable upon course completion, allows immediate commencement of DOT drug tests.

Our instructor-led virtual mock collection training meets and surpasses the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated specimen collection requirements for urine drug testing. This training extends beyond conventional programs by incorporating scenario-based learning, equipping urine specimen collectors with the essential skills to tackle common challenges encountered during DOT urine drug testing.

Mock collections serve as simulated practices of actual collection processes, demonstrating learners' competency in carrying out all steps in the specimen collection procedure, and through these simulations, learners are trained to maintain the integrity of the specimen and effectively adhere to the chain of custody requirements as laid out in 49 CFR Part 40.

A unique advantage of enrolling in our virtual mock collections is the inclusion of scenario-based learning, which exposes learners to realistic situations they might face while conducting urine collections and drug tests, which will provide collectors with the confidence and ability to proficiently navigate a variety of scenarios, thereby reducing the likelihood of errors or "fatal flaws" that could invalidate test results and potentially lead to significant liability.

Our mock collections are conducted in group settings and guided by our experienced instructors. Each session lasts approximately four hours, offering ample opportunities for individualized guidance, interaction, and practical application.

Upon completing five mock collections, learners will achieve an initial proficiency demonstration and gain the confidence and ability to handle diverse testing situations. This training ultimately contributes to fostering a safer transportation environment. On course completion, learners can download a certificate and perform DOT drug tests immediately.

The Training Objectives for Mock Collection for Urine Specimen Collections represent the key competencies and skills learners should attain upon completing the course. These objectives guide the structure of the course and serve as measurable indicators of a learner's understanding and performance. These objectives are as follows:

  • Demonstrating Proficiency: Learners will gain the ability to conduct collections and testing according to relevant protocols for the testing modality, displaying this ability through successfully navigating dynamic collection scenarios with a 100% proficiency rate.

  • Understanding Industry Terms and Protocols: The course aims to ensure that learners understand and can effectively communicate industry terms and the protocols involved with federally-mandated testing, which will be qualitatively assessed by the instructor before, during, and after collection scenarios.

  • Maintaining Specimen Integrity: Learners will demonstrate competence in maintaining the specimen's integrity throughout the collection process, showing a clear understanding and adherence to the chain of custody requirements as per 49 CFR Part 40.

  • Handling Common Challenges: Through scenario-based learning and simulated practical exercises, learners will gain the skills to navigate everyday challenges encountered during DOT urine drug testing.

  • Minimizing Fatal Flaws: The course emphasizes the reduction of fatal flaws, errors that could invalidate test results and potentially lead to significant liability - through comprehensive training in specimen collection procedures.

  • Managing Diverse Testing Situations: Learners will demonstrate the capability to handle a variety of testing situations, thereby fostering confidence and professionalism in the field.

  • Completion and Certification: Upon successful completion of five mock collections, learners can download a certificate of proficiency and commence DOT drug tests immediately, ensuring regulatory compliance and contributing to a safer transportation environment.
