This online course is designed to provide you with comprehensive training on how to collect hair specimens for long-term substance abuse detection purposes.
The course is specifically designed for independent Hair Specimen Collectors who provide services to private employers and substance abuse recovery centers. With hair specimen testing, laboratories can determine long-term abuse, with a standard hair test screening for abuse over the prior 3 months.
Unlike other specimen collection methods, hair specimen collections are not currently regulated under the DOT. However, laboratories have their own procedures and regulations for collection, which this course will cover in detail.
Through interactive online modules, you will learn the procedures for the four major laboratories that process hair samples, as well as the best practices for hair specimen collection. The course will cover topics such as proper collection techniques, handling and storage of hair specimens, and best practices for compliance with laboratory procedures and regulations.
Upon completion of the course, you will receive a certification that verifies your successful completion of the training. This certification will allow you to work with four major laboratories that process hair samples, as well as other laboratories that require hair specimen collection certification.
